Dwayne and his wife, Tina, have five awesome kids and three amazing grandkids. He was originally from the great state of Kentucky and graduated from Johnson Bible College with a degree in Preaching. He then got his Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling at the University of West Georgia. Dwayne served as a Youth Pastor for 20 years and he also has served as a Worship Leader for about 20 years now. He is an active member of Southern Hills, the Church at City Station and enjoys singing and playing songs on his guitar that honor the Lord. For Dwayne, family life is a big priority and in his down time he enjoys spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loves music and sports, especially college basketball, Go Wildcats! He loves to read books, blogs, the local paper, magazines, and sometimes how-to instructions.
In January 2003, Dwayne shifted gears in his career and graduated from Barney Fletcher Real Estate School in Atlanta. He joined his brother, Scotty Hicks at United Country West Georgia Realty one month later. In June 2010, they merged companies with Mitt Conerly, Sr. of Real Estate West to form Metro West Realty. Dwayne serves as a REALTOR and associate broker in the firm. Dwayne recently earned his Real Estate Instructor license from the Georgia Real Estate Commission and he has enjoyed getting to teach Real Estate through West Georgia Technical College.
Dwayne’s heart in Real Estate is service. He has found that although he is no longer in full time ministry, Real Estate is ministry too. He loves getting to serve people and connect with them on a personal basis as he gets to help them find their dream home.
