Jean Daniel

I first met Jean when she was, my son, Jeremy’s 1st grade teacher. Our paths crossed again when she and Mr. B started attending First Christian Church. They were just a really sweet couple. Mr. B was a very plain spoken fellow and I didn’t quite know how to take him at first. But the more I got to know him, man… his heart was so big and so huge. He was such a kind, gentle, man and behind him was this strong, feisty, little lady named, Jean.As I helped them find a house, I was honored to get to know them both on a deeper level and to hear their stories about what they had walked through and how the Lord was so faithful in their lives.Mr. B got sick and we as a church began walking with them through that. One day, he wanted all of the Southern Hills staff to come over to their house and I remember spending some time with him and getting to play horseshoes in their backyard. That was a highlight of my friendship with him. He was totally in good spirits and it was fun. But it was hard seeing such a good strong man battling that.Watching Jean walk through grief, as hard as that has been for her, she is still just a quiet, strong, steady follower of Jesus. She is so loved by everyone around her and everyone that knows her. Not too long ago she went through a Financial Peace class that we did through City Station Fitness that I was teaching. But she and I talked afterward and it was encouraging to me to see how she has been such a good steward of what the Lord has blessed her with. She is very generous, very sweet, very kind. Just watching her live out her faith is so inspirational to me.She still finds new ways to serve. For example, a unique way is that she participates with Jesus Family through City Station Student Housing. She meets occasionally with one of the college students upstairs. She found that the student’s boyfriend had come to visit and stayed in a really cheap, unsafe motel. She offered up her home and invited him to stay with her from now on when he comes to town. For these reasons and many more, I would like to honor my sweet sister in Christ, Jean Daniel as my client of the week!
