I met Kenny Edwards back when he was my son, Jeremy’s, high school basketball assistant coach. He was constantly investing in those guys. I got to know him and I learned more about his journey and what a hard journey he had. I watched him as he went into the business world and then he returned to teaching high school and coaching. One of my favorite things I love about watching him coach is that he doesn’t just try to win games. He is genuinely trying to grow those boys. He is determined to see past their experiences and help them grow into young men. He is building the student, not just the team. They have had more wins this year than they’ve had in several years but I just know him well enough to know that it isn’t just about the win of the team as much as it is about the win of the student growing.
I had the honor and privilege to officiate Kenny and April’s wedding. April is such a sweet, kind person and she is very hardworking. I love watching Kenny and April be parents to their two daughters. They are incredible parents and Kenny is an incredible girl dad. He is very intentional with his daughters. Every time I am around him with them it is just really cool to see.
I don’t know how many times over the years they have referred me but it has been a lot. We just have a really cool friendship and honest conversations all the time.
For these reasons and many more, I would like to honor Kenny and April Edwards as my “Clients of the Month.”
