Susan Still
It is not very often you get to work with family, and for many this is a huge no no. But when I got the opportunity to work with Sue, (though she is my aunt, we grew up calling her Momma Sue— because it takes a village) I couldn’t wait! Not only was this going to be a huge moment for all of us to trust and lean into each other in this process, it was also a property that I have known so well over the years.
I grew up as a young child, running through the woods, jumping on the trampoline with the hose, riding the go cart, and even learning how to drive in the field in an old Datsun. I also grew up on this property getting kicked in the face by a horse, attacked multiple times by an evil rooster and many other moments that made some serious impact on me as well. But Sue was always there and let us run wild and free.
Paynes lake road was truly a homestead for many generations and many sweet memories. My grandparents spent their last years on the property, my mother turned it into a home, and I spent most of my college years living there as well. After many other family members found refuge in this place over the years it was finally time to pass it on, and I’m humbled that Sue chose me.
This month’s Client of the Month” is Susan Still, because not only did I grow up trusting her as a part of our village, now as an adult she returned the favor and trusted me! Sue, you were a dream to work with, and though I know it was bittersweet selling Paynes lake road, I know this will free you up for the adventures ahead!
