Matt and Amie Clotfelter

Oh my goodness, I have known Matt and Amie Clotfelter for such a long time! Matt was a youth ministry intern with me when I was a youth pastor at First Christian. We had a ton of fun— he might remember the “redneck olympics”. We got in trouble for tearing up the carpet because we were bowling with tires. Some of the kids learned to put backspins on the tires and when they did, it would leave tire marks on the brand new carpet. Oops. Matt was my technology guy and his heart was incredible. He was so eager to serve and help people. If you needed something done, he was amazing at figuring things out and just finding a way to do it. When he met Amie, he stole her heart. She saw what a special man he was and they work really well together.Amie’s Dad was the pastor at my in-laws church at the time so that is how I first met her. Amie is incredible, bright, and a detailed-oriented person. She has been serving on staff at Southern Hills and it’s been such a huge win for the church to have her. One day, Bethany and Tabi, and I were sitting in the office and Bethany said, “That Amie, the joy of Jesus comes out in her smile and in her words.” And I thought that is the highest compliment you could possibly pay her and she needs to hear that. Both Matt and Amie were raised in ministry families and they both love helping and serving people through ministry. It is clear that they are instilling this same heart into their two sons, Tyler and Marcus.Recently, when they reached out to me about selling their home, I remember it was just a really cool conversation. They wanted to build a house, so they are working with Cory and Judy Lord, and Alex Griffin on building a house in Stonecrest. When their house sold and they were so sweet meeting the new buyers— trying to serve them in the midst of COVID. Matt had saved every owner's manual and date they purchased every appliance, which was super helpful. They were just generous and very considerate. I’m excited for them and their new home. They are just incredible people and anyone that knows them knows of their servant-hearts and knows that they will help anyone and do whatever needs to be done. As their friend, it has been an honor to watch them grow over the years and to see their faith increase in their times of suffering. It has been quite inspiring and their genuine love for the Lord is evident. For these reasons, and many more I would like honor Matt and Amie Clotfelter as my “Clients of the Week”!
